CRIME OF THE WEEK (02/19/01 to 02/25/01)

ON SUNDAY FEBRUARY 18, 2001 THE GUAM POLICE DEPARTMENT RECEIVED A REPORT OF TWO SEPARATE ROBBERIES ON OUR ISLAND.

Strong Armed Robbery

SYNOPSIS: Two female Japanese tourist were sitting on a bench located outside the Playboy Shop in Tumon when two male individuals approached them.

One of the individuals grabbed the purse the tourist had and both males fled on foot. Armed Robbery SYNOPSIS: The Desk clerk at the Village Hotel located behind Ben Franklins in Tamuning, reported that a male individual gained access to the building by asking what the rates were for the evening.

When the male individiual was inside he brandished a silver handgun and demanded the money located in a cash box. The suspect grabbed about $150.00 dollars and fled in dark colored pikc-up with heavy tint.
