CRIME OF THE WEEK (04/23/01 to 04/29/01)

SYNOPSIS:

Saturday April 21, 2001 Guam Police and Guam Fire Department responded to a fire and burglary at the Untalan Middle School in Barrigada. Three classrooms were burnt and several others had been broken into. The individuals who committed this crime caused several thousands of dollars worth of damage, which you the taxpayer are a victim of.

CRIME OF THE WEEK (04/16/01 to 04/22/01)

SYNOPSIS:

Tuesday April 10, 2001 two male individuals entered the Choi's Market in Mongmong around 7:00am. One of the individuals held a handgun to the storeowner's head and demanded money. the two suspects then fled on a Japanese made sedan, color white and in an unknown direction.

SYNOPSIS:

Thursday April 5, 2001 Guam Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the former Dallas Lounge in Tamuning. A homeless male was hospitalized from injuries received during that fire. After being hospitalized for five days the victim died as a result of those injuries. The case has been turned over to the Guam Police Departments Criminal Investigation Sections, Robbery/Homicide Unit for follow up.

SYNOPSIS:

Satruday March 31, 2001 a man driving on a dirt road by the Ukudo Pipeline in Harmon was stopped by a male individual walking along the road.

As he stopped his vehicle another male individual came out of the jungle area and grabbed the back of his hair putting the knife to his throat. The two suspects demanded money from the victim.

The suspects then pulled the victim out of the vehicle, punched him and tied his hand behind his back. The suspects got away with little over $1,800.00 dollars.

SYNOPSIS: Case Solved

Last week's crime segment was regarding a Purse Snatching in Tumon that happened on Japanese tourist between TGIF and the Guam Plaza Hotel.

Its appears the individual struck again, this time a 57 year old Japanese tourist reported that while she was walking in front of the Regency Hotel on Santos Hill, Tumon, a White Nissan Sentra approached her and a male individual reached out of the passenger side window and grabbed her purse.

The tourist was knocked to the ground and dragged about 25 feet. She received some abrasions to her face, arms and legs.
